Woo Hoo! This is the first time I am participating as a Design Team member in the Blog Hop for Just Inklined! Hope you are ready to hop with us. Our hostess this month is Jak, and she has chosen PLEATS for our theme. Now if you’ve arrived from Jeni’s blog, just keep hopping, otherwise you might want to go back to the start and see what Jak created. You are sure to find lots of inspiration and tips along the way, and don’t forget to leave a comment.
I have chosen the Wedding Shoe digital image by Just Inklined. I love the vintage look of this image and knew immediately that I would color it with creamy colors and light pastel copic markers (E53,52, 51 & 50 and R20, 00, G20 & G000 and colorless blender pen).
I am so in love with all the new paper pads I have recently purchased and was thrilled to use Cart-Us “Wedding” 6×6 inch pad. The colors are black, silver and creamy gold; several papers are glittered (like this one) making an image like this really pop. Of course, the black ribbon is “pleated” to fit the theme of this challenge and the white roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Sentiment, stamped with Memento Sepia inkpad, is by Just Rite stamps. Pearls & crystals are from Recollections. Gold “pearls” on image and white pearls on shoe are from Viva Decor Pearl Pens in Ivory and Gold. Last, lots of Glamour Dust and Fairy Dust glitter!
What I especially love about this card is the corner embellishment…you know I love those metal corners from Wild Orchid Crafts but they only come in silver and gold. I saw everyone using white embossing powder to change the silver or gold metal color, so, I decided to try it with other color embossing powders. I got this very cool multi-color sparkle by using a silver corner and embossing it with Ranger’s Detail Black and Ancient Gold. I poured the black over some of the metal, then the gold at the same time, then embossed. I did add a second sprinkle of just the Ancient Gold and embossed again. It really gives a vintage or antique look and I am sure that all my other color embossing powders will be coming out to play real soon!
Your next stop will be Joyce’s blog. She is sure to have something fun to share. Hope you enjoyed our hop. Have a great day. As always, thank you for your kind comments.
