Happy Labor Day Weekend… School is just around the corner for many of us here in the USA… in some states, the kids have already begun their school year. Hopefully you will get a chance to enjoy this extended weekend! Today also begins another fun challenge at Stamptacular Sundays…our challenge theme this week is a SKETCH! Feel free to flip it, flop it, twist it or turn it as long as we can still see the original sketch in your finished project! Oh, and don’t forget to stamp!
You will have from now until midnight (EST) September 7th to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submisssion into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week’s Prize donated by Our Very Own Priscilla- It is a SURPRISE but definitely FANTASTIC!
For my card I chose a timely image to stamp and color – “Back to School Luka” by LaLa Land Stamps. He is so adorable. The rubber stamp comes with the ruler stamp and the sentiment stamp you see here- how cool is that?
“Luka” is colored with copic markers and blue Pebbles chalk (not too visible in the pic) surrounds the image. The yellow-gold cardstock (oval and sentiment mat) is from Bazzill and I love this new really heavy weight Kraft Cardstock (350gms) that I just purchased from Craftwork Cards and used to mat the design paper! The design paper is My Mind’s Eye Stella Rose Hattie 6×6 paper pad- perfect for a boy card! The papers and border leaves were distressed with Brushed Corduroy distress ink. The leaves border punch is from EK Success. Buttons and twine from my stash. Luka’s skateboard wheels, backpack and sneaker tips were coated with Glossy Accents and I had to put a “smidge” of Stickles along the edge of the leaves!
Now I did not intend to put the ruler where it is, however, after my copic marker fell on my image after I had finished coloring it, a little blob of light brown copic was impossible to remove, so I added my ruler right over it!
Why not take a look at how our DESIGN TEAM interpreted this SKETCH! There are so many possibilities and surely one will inspire you to join us this week! Have a great weekend, and thanks always for you kind comments! I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
