Welcome to another fun challenge this week at Stamptacular Sundays! This week’s challenge is right up my alley- it is WINGS AND BLING – two of my favorite themes when it comes to making a card! It is going to be so much fun to see how everyone interprets this theme. For this week’s challenge you will create a card or project that includes both wings and bling. Easy peasy, right? It ‘s fun to see how creative you can be with all those great glittery, shiny and glamourous embellies! So.. you will have from now until midnight (EST) July 21st to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week’s fabulous prize donated by:
For my card, I chose another fabulous Hannah Lynn image called “Spring To Life” available at Crafts and Me
. She is colored with many copics- found myself blending colors and having a blast experimenting with it. Her dress YG’s, Wings, YGs, Y’s (including a bit of the neon yellow) and some bright B’s tht I have not used in a while B6, 4, 3 and OO. Love the little robin’s eggs!
Once again, the Design Paper is a fabulous 6 inch digital “paper pad” from Crafts and Me. It prints the perfect size so it is easy to include those designs as part of the card- they won’t get cut off when trimming the paper down for the card. I have to show you a thumbnail of the paper so you can truly appreciate its beauty. Each pad is filled with papers in a wide range of colors that are so vibrant and print beautifully! The open space in the middle is made for inserting images and embellishments without losing the design, especially the fairy images like Hannah’s. I find I don’t want to cover it up….but I did add some bling!
First, I triple matted the image. I added a piece of black netting from Funkie Junkie behind the image and then I embellished the netting with tiny gold pearls and clear Swarovksi crystals. Flowers and metal corners are from Wild Orchid Crafts and some roses from Recollections. I added real pearls (as opposed to Viva Decor Pearl Pen) to her wings and some Glossy Accents to the robin eggs and bow in her hair. While you may not see it too clearly, there is a die cut on the card -it is the Memory Box Honey Blossom Sprig
in the upper left-hand corner in black. It really mimicked the silhouette vines in the paper creating a 3D look (hard to see in the pic). Roses are attached on each flower of the die cut over her head.
Parts of the image were coated with a bit of Stickles and Glamour Dust. I really prefer the Glamour Dust when you use it with a glue pen- it is light and there is no trace/shine from the gel …Now, get out your bling-i-iest bling and winged things and join us. And… don’t forget to stamp, as we are STAMPtacular Sundays Challenge. Here are the Design Team projects to inspire your creativity… Thanks always for your kind comments!
