“Calgon..Take Me Away….”

Wow, remember that television slogan for Calgon Bath Beads?  (notice I didn’t say bubble bath?)  I am certainly dating myself… but the product is still around (link above)!  Isn’t it the truth?  Nothing is so wonderful as a hot, bubble bath!  When was the last time life slowed down enough to do that? I am hoping that those still without power will be putting a nice hot bath on the top of their list of “things to do” once life gets back to normal.  For some, unfortunately, that will be a longer journey..especially as a Nor’easter storm is due to arrive today. My school will be closed again because of the wind and rain and I am hoping no more damage and loss occurs with today’s storm…
A brighter bit of news is that it’s Wednesday and that means another great challenge at THE PAPER SHELTER.  This week’s challenge is “ELVES AND FAIRIES” and The Paper Shelter sure has a lot of elves and fairies to color!  As always, The Paper Shelter awards a $30 prize voucher to a challenge winner who uses a Paper Shelter image on their project, but you can still enter with ANY image you choose. If you do, you can still win 3 Paper Shelter images of your choice!

For my card, I selected “Magic Bubble Bath” – a digital image that comes in PNG and JPEG format as well as with design paper.  My little elf is colored with copic markers and a lot of Deco Art Glamour Dust…
Don’t you just love the sentiment?
I found it online and computer generated it for this card. One blogger (forget who) shared a great website called Wordmark.it that I just love.  You simply type in whatever you want (a word or sentiment or a long passage…) in the box that says “wordmark” and then click “load fonts.”  Easy peasy and then you see your sentiment in all different fonts that you already have on your computer on ONE page!  It features positive and negative selection, too!  Now, while you can not paste the one you want in a document, you can note the font you like and then go back to your WORD doc and just retype the sentiment and choose the font you noted in Wordmark.it. It is really a fast and convenient way to see how your sentiment looks in different fonts!
The design paper I used is called “The Bright Side of Life” by Scrap Cake Papers.  The blue strip across the floral paper is from a DCWV paper pad called “Be Mine”.  The papers were matted with Bazzill cardstock and Kraft cardstock.  All edges were distressed with Tea Dye and Walnut Stain ink.
The metallic corner and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and, once again, I colored the silver metallic corner with Acrylic white paint and glitter.  Pearls and cheesecloth are from my stash and the die is from Cheery Lynn called “Fanciful Flourish” that I cut out of ivory pearl cardstock from Joanns.  I also attached some fun opalescent “plastic bubbles” from Dress it Up buttons  (Michael’s) over the bubbles in the digi image. I applied Glossy Accents to the bubbles in her hair, bath and water under the jug.
    A close up:
Why not stop over to The Paper Shelter blog to see what the Design Team has created to inspire you?  We look forward to seeing your “elf and fairy” projects this week. Remember after posting your project to The Paper Shelter Challenge blog, please link back to the challenge on your blog post.  Have a great day and thank you for your kind comments!
