Dreams Do Come True

Good Morning… Today I colored up a lovely image called “Masquerade”.

“Masquerade” is colored with copic markers and Polychromos pencils. I am just beginning to work with these pencils and have taken a few online classes but, as with any new technique or medium, it takes practice, practice, practice! The design paper is Kaisercraft’s “Romance.”  I inked the edges of the dp’s and die cuts with Tim Holtz “Vintage Photo” distress ink.

Although the pics do not show it as well as I would like, the colors in the dp, the roses and on her dress DO match… I think the lighting creates a slight difference in the shading!  I have wanted to play with the “mask” die from the Spellbinder Venetian Accents set for some time, and when I saw this image, I knew it would be perfect for this card.

The lovely ribbon and pearls are from Live and Love Crafts.  The flowers are a mix from Wild Orchid Crafts and Recollections.  The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your kind comments. Have a great day!

  14. Hello Anne-Marie,

I am so glad that you left a comment to help us understand how you see hope in this card. It isn't necessary for a card to have the actual word on the card but simply a conveyance of the feeling or idea or as in your case, even just the thought process behind it. With your explanation I can easily understand why you thought your creation was a good fit for our current challenge.

Maintaining a hopeful outlook is important and if believing that dreams CAN and DO come true and directing our energy toward making them a reality helps you to maintain hope, then that is what is important. We must all do what we can to keep hope alive in our minds and hearts. I also love the quote from William Ward that you referred to. Your creation itself is just so pretty. I love the shabby chic look and that die-cut mask that you used is simply stunning. It is nice you finally had a chance to use it. You would also never know that you are a beginner with working with coloured pencils. I can see the benefit of combining mediums to achieve an interesting look.

Thank you so much for joining this month on the Path of Positivity. I'm so glad that you found my challenge and that you have become our newest follower. I look forward to seeing more of your lovely creations in the future.

May you always be able to keep a hopeful outlook by keeping your dreams alive!
