Fairy Fever at Stamptacular Sundays Challenge

It’s Fairy Fever” over at Stamptacular Sundays!  Fairies are one of my favorite images to color, whether they are whimsical or elaborately sketched.  For this week’s challenge you will create a card or project that has some sort of fairy on it! We can’t wait to see all the cute fairies!  Oh, and don’t forget to STAMP!
You will have from now until midnight (EST) June 16th to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week’s fabulous prize donated by:

PRIZE $15 Gift Certificate
For my “fairy”, I went back to school. That’s right, back to school.  First, I knew I wanted to use this stamp, “Wee Fairy” by Sylvia Zet (digi here) and the rubber stamp here. It has been around awhile, but I never have had the chance to color her!  I knew Suzanne Dean did a You tube video on how to color her, and so I thought, why not look at it again. It had been awhile since I viewed a copic tutorial, and I learned even more this time around.  Watching them again with some separation from the time I was a beginner enabled me to see some things that I missed the first time around!

I colored Wee Fairy with copics, RV 69,66,63 &55/YG97, 95,93 &91/E43,42,41 &40. Hair: E50,31 &25.  I embellished her with Viva Decor Pearl Pen in Cream and Deco Art Glamour Dust.  Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and Bling from Prima.  Sentiment is computer generated.  Seam binding dyed using Dylusions and Glimmer Mist sprays in pinks, and yellows.

I like “fussy cutting” (a quilter’s term) design paper meaning you cut a specific section  of the paper that you want.  In this way, I was able to have the “matching flower” above her pull out the RV’s in her dress.  Because I colored her before I picked out the paper (not wise), I had to work to find paper in my stash that worked with the TWO colors in her dress/wings.  I also added a bit more color to the flowers in the design paper with the RV copics to make them match even more than they did.  The design paper here is from Recollections “Floral Foliage.”  It is a 12×12 pad, most of which is gorgeously glittered- lots of butterflies, too. The stamp on the background of the image is from Lili of the Valley Grunge Corners. Love this stamp set!
Come see what the DESIGN TEAM created to help inspire you to create your “Fairy” project… Have a great day, and, as always, thank you for your kind comments.

Thank you for you lovely comments Anne Marie and the link to the memory box competition. Have you any suggestions.
