Oh, it’s been a while! First, I hope this post finds everyone safe. I am stopping by to share some news. After 25 years teaching high school, I retired in June. I am looking forward to delving deeply into more art classes -online for now- and of course, being back to blogging. As a “retirement gift” I destashed and renovated my craft room and I love it! I can paint, color, sew, quilt… you name it. It is truly my sanctuary. I have spent the past few months sewing masks and I will continue to do so in between creating my cards, crocheting and learning online.
Today, I want to share a shaker card I made (my first) for a new baby boy, or as I called my son, “Little Prince.” LOL
I cheated a bit – I used the large Sizzix “Shaker Domes” as the focal point and filled them with blingy bits from Little Things from Lucy, Reneabouquet Fairy Lights Pearls and 28 Lilac Lane. I love the mix especially the vellum rocking horses.
The papers are imported from Poland – Celebrations Blue by Scrapandme. I love them! I used all the papers for the background, shaker dome overlay and the Marianne Craftable Diecut doily. I embellished the card with Mystique pastel colored lace trim, beautiful silk ribbon from WHS Marketplace, pearls and mulberry flowers. Finally I added baby blue buttons on the top right.
I was fortunate to get the last of these goat boxes from Tracy at Crafteezee before her store closed. The blue window box makes this card complete for gift giving. This card is available in my ETSY shop HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by and, as always, for your kind comments. Have a great day. Stay safe!
PS… hint: next post tomorrow, the baby girl “Little Princess” version.
