July 1st… a special day at my home- today is my son Tim’s 23rd birthday! He is my most cherished “creation” and my husband and I are truly blessed with such a wonderful son. Happy Birthday, Tim!
Today also begins another challenge at STAMPTACULAR SUNDAYS! This week’s challenge is….
For this week’s challenge, you will create a card or project that has only red, white, and blue… and don’t forget to add some sparkle! We want to see it SHINE! Of course, we are STAMPtacular, so don’t forget to stamp! You will have from now until midnight (EST) July 7th to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week’s fabulous prize donated by:
Prize: Winner’s Choice of FOUR Sheets!!
What are the chances that I would find a “sexy”
Lady Liberty for my card image? And now, what are the chances that the sexy Lady Liberty would also be a mermaid
??? None, I thought until I found this image. She is called “Lady Liberty Mermaid”
(yes, I just wrote that…) by Hannah Lynn. Her stamps are sold at Crafts and Me but I got her at Hannah Lynn’s ETSY store
I colored Lady Liberty with copics and Spica pens in red and blue. Don’t you just love her “patriotic fins”? Of course she has “blue” eyes and “red” hair!! Had to stay with our theme… I used a Sharpie white paint pen (fine point) to create polka dots on her scarf and crown. The design paper is from Bo Bunny’s “Liberty” and Authentique’s “Glory” 6×6 inch paper pads. I embellished the card with “sparkler” and star stickers from Michael’s along with glitter ribbon in red/blue from Michael’s as well. The “bling” is Recollections Bling on a Roll. Sentiment is a rubber stamp from Taylored Expressions July 4th series. Last, but not least, white and red roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Please take a look at what the STAMPTACULAR DESIGN TEAM
has created. You will enjoy the many interpretations of this theme! We hope to have inspired you to get started on your blingy red, white and blue creation.
Have a great day, and thank you for stopping by!
