Ribbon or Twine -A Creative Romance Challenge
Happy Wednesday… yes, I am a few days late for my challenge post for A Creative Romance challenge blog.. I have had some “life” issues to deal with and thankfully, all has ended well, so I am back crafting and visiting your blogs! My“Chic Crafters” teammates have selected Ribbon or Twine as our challenge. The challenge will run from now until July 14th, so hopefully we will see your creations entered! The sponsor for this challenge is THE RIBBON GIRL!
For my entry, I am using a digi stamp I stumbled upon in a new ETSY shop. This adorable image is called “Abi Ballerina” by Wendy Burns Designs. I was just smitten by Wendy’s images the first time I saw them and I just had to buy this little ballerina… and a few other stamps by Wendy as well! It made me realize all the more, with all the controversy going on about illegally sharing stamped and digi images on the internet, Pinterest or social networks, how important it is to support our artists by buying directly from them or the stores that distribute their images. If our talented artists cannot afford to continue to create the images we love to color, we will not be able to create our cards and projects with their unique designs…Let’s continue to support our artists and let others know to do the same! ‘Nuf said!
Abi Ballerina is colored with copic markers and embellished with Diamond Stickles and lots of Shabby White/Gold Glitter Frantage.
The design papers are taken from an old 6×6 inch paper pad from Imaginisce called “Enchanted”. I do not know if anyone has it available anymore but I am sorry I did not get more when I got it! The die cut is a Marianne Doily die. I computer generated the sentiment (a Hopi Indian saying) that I found on the internet, but I used a font from DaFonts called “Pea Noodle’s Girlfriends” which you can download free HERE. It fit the theme of the card well. I have a PINTEREST BOARD HERE that features lots of fonts if you are interesting in adding them to your computer. You find the font you want, click “download”, (I save it to my desktop), then right-click on the icon on your desktop and select “install”. It installs right into your word processing program and becomes part of it so you can select it as you do any type of font!
The flowers and heart pearls are from WOC, the white metal corner is from LLC but I added some “Bridal Tinsel” embossing powder to give it some sparkle. The pink and white gingham ribbon bow (challenge theme) amid the flowers is from my stash. Here is a close up of this pretty ballerina…
