“Serenity”

Happy Sunday… hope you are enjoying the summer as it slowly winds down…. Once again, today begins another fun challenge at STAMPTACULAR SUNDAYS.  Our theme this week is ROSES AND RIBBONS!  Sounds like a fun challenge that is sure to elicit some beautiful projects!  For this week’s challenge you will create a card or project that incorporates both roses and ribbons in your final creation.  Easy as pie.. and, don’t forget to stamp! That’s why we are called “STAMPtacular Sundays!”  Our sponsor this week is MARIANNE DESIGNS.
You will have from now until midnight (EST) September 1st to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week’s fabulous prize. Three entries will also be awarded our “Top 3” Badge as well.
For my project, I selected a rubber stamp I just purchased called “Serenity” by Concetta Kilmer for Sweet Pea stamps.  Serenity is colored with copics (E35, 25, 29, 51, 50 hair/B02, 000, C7 eyes and E000, 00, 21, 11 skin, RV’s/spica pens lips and Y26 for frame around her) and embellished with Spica pens and some Smooch.

I stamped the image on Make it Colour copic cardstock. I so love this paper.  I did use a new glue pen and found that it made some of my hair color get a bit blotchy, but it was the glue and not the paper. This paper is a dream to color on without staying “wet” and making colors smear.
I used Spellbinder dies (Oval and Floral Oval) to cut out the image and the black decorative oval behind her.  The design paper is a digi paper collection (Forest Fairy 6×6) I have used before, but not this one page, available at Crafts and Me.  The rich blue, black and purple colors seemed to fit and offset the image.  The cheesecloth, once again, was lightly spritzed with Dylusions Sprays in Crushed Grape, but I managed to keep some “white area” that I glittered with Deco Art Glamour Dust.  I added two chipboard butterflies that I colored with Distress Markers and Stickles, then applied a crystal on each. Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and that beautiful black lace, ( ahem…ribbon hehe) has clear crystals on each scallop (it came that way) that continue to add some sparkle to me image.  The lace was a gift so I don’t know where it comes from…Last chalk and stormy sky distress ink are sponged around the image.

We look forward to seeing your submissions in this week’s STAMPTACULAR SUNDAYS challenge.. now hop over to see what the DESIGN TEAM has created to inspire you!  If you would like to purchase this or any of my cards, they are available in my online ETSY. store. As always, thank you for your kind comments.
