I’m baaaaack!! Seems like forever since I posted a card. Migraines sidelined me last week.. with this crazy weather we are having here in the Northeast, no wonder I had headaches…. oppressive humidity, thunderstorms, even a small tornado passing through on Friday! But.. it is Sunday and that means another fun STAMPTACULAR SUNDAYS CHALLENGE.
Now, our challenge this week at STAMPTACULAR SUNDAYS is “SHAPE IT UP.” You must create a card with a unique shape. No squares or rectangles allowed! You will have from now until midnight, August 18th (EST) to complete this challenge and post a DIRECT LINK to your submission into our InLinkz in order to be entered into the drawing for this week’s fabulous prize donated by:
…. I must admit I took a deep breath when I read the challenge because I am a square card girl and any time I have to create something that is not square, I panic…but that is the cool thing about challenges.. they sometimes force you into territory you would not ordinarily (aka willingly) go. This time, I am pleased with the result, even though it is “squar-ish”! For my card I chose a new Christmas/Winter image by Lili of the Valley called “Winter Fairy”. She is colored with various shades of blue copic markers.
The card base is a white Vintage Step Card from the “For Your Inspiration” collection of gorgeous card bases by Which Craft? (UK). There are so many lovely designs to choose from and the gallery of cards alone is worth the hop over. I covered the base of the card with some older Christmas dp that I made sure to buy lots of a year or more ago. It is Bo Bunny’s Snowy Serenade-Limited Edition Glitter paper. I just love the snowflakes embossed on this paper- you can see the design best along the left side of the card.
The overlays (that come with the card base) were painted with Tim Holtz Pearl Paint Dabber and then glitttered with Martha Stewart Snow glitter and flakes. After I colored her, I added Diamond Stickles to her wings and on the “fur” on her skirt. Finally, I added Bling on a Roll pearls, a strip of white rose organza ribbon, a heart button from my stash and Wild Orchid Crafts flowers as embellisments. The sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley– I used Stormy Sky distress ink to stamp the sentiment and to distress the edges of the design paper.
Your card is stunning, Ann Marie! I love rich blues and the darling image! Outstanding coloring and embellishments!

Love this card Anne Marie and she is coloured beautifully. Such a gorgeous image. I know what you mean about anything but square being a bit out of the comfort zone. I have just posted a card that is not exactly square but not different enough for the challenge this week.
Love Sharon. x
