Can’t believe we are at the end of August already… seems like summer just began… I do love the Fall, however, NOT what follows it!! Enough whining! Today begins another challenge at The Paper Shelter. This week’s challenge is LOTS OF LAYERS. How fabulous this challenge can be when you purchase The Paper Shelter digi images as many of the images come with coordinating design paper, or have other matching digital paper available for purchase!
Some GREAT news is that now The Paper Shelter is awarding a $30 prize voucher to a challenge winner who uses a Paper Shelter image on their project. You can still enter with ANY IMAGE you choose, and if you use another image, you can still win 3 Paper Shelter images of your choice!
For this week’s Lots Of Layers Challenge, I selected this fun image called “Little Cowboy”. I haven’t created a card for a little boy in a while so this was fun image to color. I also used two dp’s from the “Little Cowboy” paper pack so that getting the layers all matched up was easy as pie! As you know, The Paper Shelter images come colored for a fast project AND in digi format so you can color, merge and design as you please. While I am planning to buy a color laser printer very soon, just know this paper was printed on my inkjet printer using HP Brochure paper.
My “Little Cowboy” was colored with lots of copics (see below). The cardstock is from Bazzill and the raffia is from Wild Orchid Crafts. The stars were cut with a paper punch out of extra dp that I printed out. Last, the sentiment is computer generated.. I downloaded a free font from Dafont called “Bleeding Cowboys” and combined it with a quote I “googled” on the internet. The edges of the sentiment and stars were distressed with “Brushed Corduroy” distress ink. His pop-guns, belt buckle and bandana also got a coat of Stickles. Even my cowboys have to show some “bling”!
